The Tab Bar

Switch between the tabs of a plan, add new ones, and group them into folders.

A plan can hold many tabs, each filled by a Board, a Sheet, a Dashboard or a Form, and the tab bar is how you move between them. The bar runs along the bottom of the editor and shows them in a row, so the whole plan is one click wide. The quick controls (Search, Settings and the appearance switch) sit at its right-hand end.

What you can do here

  • Switch between tabs by clicking one. Each tab shows a small icon for what fills it, and a small stack of initials avatars on a tab shows who else is on it right now.
  • Add a new tab with the + button straight after the last tab. It arrives numbered ("Tab 2", "Tab 3"), wearing the current tab's theme, and opens on Start Planning, where you pick a board, sheet, form or dashboard for it. See Planning Basics.
  • Rename a tab by double-clicking the active one, or from its menu.
  • Reorder tabs by dragging them along the bar; a caret shows where the tab will land.
  • Manage a tab from its menu: right-click any tab (it becomes the active one), or click the ⋯ button on the active tab. Along its top are Rename, Duplicate, Paste, Side by Side, Lock Tab and Delete; below them Add to Folder, Add to Plan (link it into another plan), Import, Export and Clear. See Using Tabs.
  • Organise related tabs into one-level folders with Add to Folder when a plan grows. See Tab Folders.

On a view-only link the bar still switches tabs, but there is no + button and no tab menu. On a phone the "Tabs" label is dropped to save room.

For the depth, see Tabs: this bar is just the control surface for them.
